* Horizontals: Cloud infrastructure (including Databases), Developer productivity tools (CI/CD), Cloud Security and UI Engineering.
    * Built the team ground up while continuing to manage other portfolios and DevOps.
    * Reduced Database failover time from 45 to < 5 minutes. Decreased scalability time from hours/days to < 5 minutes. Improved the Speed to Market by reducing the build time from 90 to < 5 minutes. 
    * Reduced Cloud Expense by 42% (> $ 1 million) in over three years. Managing all Vendor product relations and Opex budget of $4.5 million.

* Increased company size from 30 to 50 people and expanded into other R&D areas like Project management, Design teams.
* Led SRED effort, helped the company to achieve benefits of more than $350K per year for multiple years.
* Coaching, mentoring and collaborating with Senior IC and Senior Manager to optimize business operations.

Lead and Managed  the Infrastructure and Engineering team supporting firm wide cloud based infrastructure and application development needs. Setting goals, project management, architecting and designing solutions, technical directions to teams on multiple infrastructure and core projects. Point-of- Contact for all escalations.

  Core Platform Engineering - standardizing and building framework for; Build and Deployment Management, Job Scheduler, Identity and Access Management, Message oriented Middleware, Monitoring system.

  Cloud Infrastructure Engineering – managing the infrastructure on cloud (AWS). Working on infrastructure tools to facilitate pod creation, application development and production deployment. This includes managing multiple EC2 instances for client pods, storage management, configuration management using Zookeeper, and Databases (SQL Server).

  DevOps: Responsible for 24x7 operations support for all production
applications, roll outs and health-monitoring of production environments; both in-house and
customer pods.

  Batch, in house Job Scheduler. To make the system more fault-tolerant and improve horizontal scaling, proposed and developed the prototype to support Database as a backend. Using Database as backend improved the job execution time by a factor of 60% and allowed to serve 10x more jobs. Proposed and drove the design changes to run the application on cloud and to support multiple customers.

  Infrastructure: My role was project and people management. Oversaw procurement, allocation and cost compilation analysis for some of the systems. Worked closely with Head of Technology to put up road map, prioritized and streamlined infrastructure projects for the group. 

 SDLC setup: Streamlined the continuous build setup for the firm using Jenkins. Worked to idealize the firmwide coding standards and enhanced Front Office code base to 95% compliant from 50%. Implemented code search on repositories using OpenGrok. Authored a continuous build system to run successive builds to identify code breaks. Developed strategies to migrate all the firm wide repositories from SVN to Git

 End of Day Feeds: These are trading data from vendors like Reuters and Bloomberg. Developed and managed parsers to obtain the security information, corporate actions and pricing related information. This is very critical for the firm as the trade engine depends on these data to predict position to be taken. Built the team from scratch and managed the Equities (India) development and operations.
